A Stem Bumper is a glide for a piece of metal. There are any number of outdoor furniture chair and chaise designs that use flat or curved metal bases instead of traditional chair legs. Certain chaise longs designs have long tubular runners and many swivel rocking chaises have round hoop like bases. The runners and the chair bases are kept from direct contact with the ground by stem bumpers. Stem bumpers fit into a small hole in the bottom of the frame. The stem bumpers look a bit like mushrooms with a wide flat head. This head is what contacts the ground. The stem is a interference fit, in the mounting hole.
Some stem bumpers are curved around the head to match the curve of the tubular frame. Some stem bumpers are flat around the head to match those installations that are not tubular but flat. There are even special stem bumpers that are long to encompasses more of the frame rail. We have tried to offer the best selection of stem bumpers and we are always on the lookout for more.
